The senator for the Front of All paul yedlin estimated today that by the “end of the week” to come “the vast majority” of senators will approve the bill that supports the refinancing agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF)which obtained this week half a sanction from the Chamber of Deputies.
“The truth is that we have no alternative but to reach an agreement with the IMF. The vast majority of us are going to accompany the President (Alberto Fernández), we are not going to have big problems”, said Yedlin this morning in statements by FM Milenium.
In the early hours of yesterday, the Chamber of Deputies approved the project that endorses the agreement with the IMF for the restructuring of the debt taken in 2018, after just over 13 hours of debate, which ended with the positive vote of 202 legislators, 37 negative and 13 abstentions.
While, on Monday the debate in committee of the initiative will begin in the Senatewith the presence of the Minister of Economy, Martín Guzmán, and other officials.
For Yedlin, the debate in the Chamber of Senators will take place “normally” and he estimated that does not think it will be necessary to “modify the text”.
Meanwhile, he confirmed that the treatment of the agreement will begin on Monday, starting at 3:00 p.m., in the Budget Commission, with the presence of Minister Guzmán.
“The truth is that we have no alternative but to reach an agreement with the IMF. The new agreement allows us to be able to breathe and in the post-pandemic to sustain the country’s growth and sustain the macroeconomy,” he explained.

Meanwhile, the senator recognized that the division of the bloc “is a risk that the Front of All runs after the vote in Deputies” and admitted that “dialogue was lacking.”
“It is a great challenge for the bloc to overcome these differences,” said Yedlin, warning those undecided senators that, if the agreement is not voted, Argentina enters “in default.”
