As the political prisoner pointed out, the military did not explanation about the reason for the transfer.
Havana, Cuba. – Yasser’s political prison Cubanet Last Friday.
Rodríguez González was held in the provincial prison of Pinar del Río Kilo 5½, where – according to uniformed, they called him to collect his belongings by saying: “Dale, that you leave for Havana.” He was then set up in a vehicle and led him to Sandino’s team.
As noted, the military did not explanation about the reason for the transfer. However, he considers that this could be in retaliation for his constant protests on the scarcity and poor condition of food, the lack of water, the deficit of medications and, in general, for the harsh conditions of captivity, aggravated by the heat and persistent presence of vectors such as rodents, bugs and mosquitoes.
According to the political prisoner in his call, in the prison installation where he is currently maintained a similar scenario: there is a shortage of medicines; The food for the criminal population is little and poorly elaborated, and the water supply to drink and for personal hygiene is unstable.
Yasser Fernando Rodríguez González, a 42 -year -old Albañil, was imprisoned on November 25, 2020 as a punishment to paint the facade of his house with answering signs against the regime and for expressing his opinions on social networks. Initially it was in the East Combinedthen in Valle Grande and later in the Pitirre, all of them prison centers of maximum rigor.
After keeping him in prison for more than 12 months without celebrating trial, he was sentenced to seven years of deprivation of liberty for the crime of “incitement to rebellion.” The process took place on December 16, 2021 in the Security Chamber of the State of the Popular Provincial Court of Havana.
This is the second time that Rodríguez González makes the same route, because during his confinement, in addition to having been transferred by several prison centers in the capital, he was already locked in the provincial prison Pinareña and transferred to Sandino’s team. The latter is more difficult to access because it is located at the westernmost end of the island of Cuba, which makes family visits difficult, especially in the middle of the adverse conditions facing the country.
