Yaracuyanos mobilize to demand the return of President Maduro

A large crowd of people gathered this Sunday in the vicinity of Plaza Bolívar de San Felipe, in Yaracuy, to demand the immediate return of President Nicolás Maduro, detained and taken to the United States (USA) this Saturday at dawn by special commandos from that country.

The event was held with the participation of regional authorities and leaders of different political and social organizations, along with the support of a people dismayed by the US military actions carried out on Venezuelan soil.

The governor of the entity, Leonardo Intoci, asserted that the military intrusion in Caracas and other cities in the country blatantly violates any convention and international law.

He stressed that the attacks were a vile attack against national sovereignty and that is why the people are in the streets demanding not only the return of President Maduro, but also respect for their dignity.

“We strongly repudiate the attacks against the country. They violated all the laws, but there is a people with energy, courage and loyalty to President Nicolás Maduro and the Bolivarian project that defends our country; an entire nation firm and loyal to the Bolivarian revolution,” said the governor.

Likewise, he indicated that great care must be taken with the use of social networks, as there is a misinformation campaign that seeks to weaken revolutionary unity and the people’s trust in their government.

“The only reliable voices are the voices of the political and military high command and those of us who have government responsibilities. In these difficult times there are those who invent a lot to generate panic and anxiety, but in the face of this we must have nerves of steel. We have overcome difficult situations and we are still standing; and this time will not be different either,” he stressed.

All with Maduro

For her part, Eliana Gutiérrez, from the Cantarrana sector of San Felipe, admitted to feeling saddened by the events recorded, but she does not lose hope that President Maduro will be returned to the country to continue his administration.

“This has been a strong blow for everyone, but the people are here, united against this great injustice committed by Trump and the North American empire, who believe they are the owners of the world and with the authority to attack countries in the base way they did against our nation. We will continue in the streets demanding the return of our president,” he said.

Likewise, Héctor Torrealba, a resident of the Las Madres neighborhood of the Independencia municipality, declared that he was not a supporter of the revolutionary government, but he was a patriot through and through; That is why he also comes out to complain against what he considers a cowardly action on the part of the US government.

“It doesn’t matter if you are a Chavista or an opponent, it is about the defense of our country. We cannot support these shameful attacks or the retention of a sitting president, under any circumstances, and that is why I am here raising my voice of protest to the world. If they did it here, then they can do it in any country; be careful with that,” he reflected.
