This Friday, the Legislative Council of the Yaracuy state (Cley), in an ordinary session held in the Hugo Chávez Frías room of the Legislative Palace, spoke forcefully against the decision by the US government to unilaterally exclude Venezuela from the Summit of the Americas.
The legislative plenary, chaired by Ángel Gamarra, and made up of the vice president, Nelby Galíndez, and deputies Deibi Ocanto, Ányela Rangel and Héctor Martínez, approved the parliamentary agreement with the saved vote of legislator Ricardo Mendoza.
Those present reviewed the situation that affects the entire country, including Yaracuy state, despite being an international summit, and came to the decision to speak out against the unjust decision.
“The Biden administration arbitrarily and without legal bases to support its position has denied participation in the ninth edition of the Summit of the Americas to the peoples of Venezuela, Nicaragua and Cuba, said action constitutes a setback in the relationship of the countries of the continent », This was stated by the highest parliamentary authority, Ángel Gamarra.
No to interference
He commented that the purpose of the Summit of the Americas cannot be to adopt interfering resolutions that violate the fundamental principles of the Charter of the United Nations, such as the right to self-determination of peoples, the equality of States, the sovereignty of nations and respect for human rights.
Likewise, he indicated that from within the revolutionary political organizations and the Bolivarian Government a debate has been generated on a national scale with the firm intention of raising the voice and setting a precedent so that the true union of the countries of America is respected.
Gamarra pointed out that it is essential to stop the interventionist policies and the anti-democratic position of the host country (the United States), whose motto promotes “regime changes” that is nothing more than coups against sovereign nations.
People stand firm against the Summit
The parliamentarian explained that the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, is fighting for the country to overcome all the obstacles that the North American empire has been promoting against all Venezuelans, with its sanctions and economic blockade.
He mentioned that thanks to the support in resistance that the people have developed to stay on their feet, the United States government has been prevented from breaking the will of all and fulfilling its macabre objectives.
Similarly, Gamarra said that Venezuelans are clear about the causes of the current situation that the country is going through and how economic siege strategies have been developed from the United States, which have a direct impact on the conditions that have affected everyone during the last years.
The legislator mentioned that from the Cley they carry out a series of meetings in the communities to strengthen the struggle of all in defense of the homeland, the revolutionary government and the future of all, since the attacks that have been perpetrated against the country, as the exclusion of the Summit, not only affect the current situation, but can also affect the future of our children.
From the state parliament, national unity is called against the interventionist pretensions that are detrimental to the political, economic and social stability of the country and the entire region.
That is why he calls on all the sectors that make political life to understand that the interests of the nation must always be above any difference that may exist.
