The PAR (Participate, Articulate, Redouble) sector of the Broad Front, led by deputy Cristina Lustemberg, has announced its decision to support the presidential candidacy of Yamandú Orsi. In a recent national plenary session, the sector evaluated several options and decided to support the mayor of Canelones as the best choice to lead the development of the Broad Front government program.
The PAR sector plays a fundamental role within the Broad Front, since it represents a political space committed to citizen participation, the articulation of ideas and the intensification of efforts. Its main objective is to build consensus and promote inclusive policies that address the needs and demands of Uruguayan society.
The PAR sector recognizes and values the virtues of prominent political figures, such as the mayor of Montevideo, Carolina Cosse; Senator Mario Bergara; and the mayor of Salto, Andrés Lima. However, after an exhaustive analysis, the PAR sector has decided to support Yamandú Orsi as a presidential candidate.
Fundamentals of support for Orsi
Support for Yamandú Orsi is based on several key rationales. First, Orsi is considered to represent the plurality and diversity of the Broad Front, which is essential to be a true reflection of Uruguayan society. His experience as a professor, his long career with important political responsibilities and his performance as mayor of one of the most representative and complex territories in the country, give him the ability to lead this process effectively.
In addition, it is highlighted that Yamandú Orsi comes from a department that encompasses various realities, from the coast to the metropolitan area, passing through rurality and the deepest interior. This multiple perspective allows him to understand the sensitivities of different sectors of Uruguayan society and work in the necessary unity of the Broad Front.
One of the most outstanding aspects of Yamandú Orsi is his openness to dialogue and his ability to build consensus. These qualities are crucial in a political context where broad collaboration between different actors is required to achieve the necessary changes and transformations.
The PAR sector trusts that Orsi will be able to represent and work with all sectors of the Broad Front, as well as to generate consensus with the rest of the country’s political system.
