After a five-day wait, the men’s dispute of the Teahupo’o stage (Tahiti) of the World Surf League (WSL) finally started, this Wednesday (17), with the dispute of three heats, only one with the participation of Brazilians.
In the first heat of the initial phase, Yago Dora scored 8.66 points to send Olympic champion Italo Ferreira (8.12 points) and South African Mathew McGillivary (5.10) to the playoffs.
After Yago’s classification, the Tahitian, who competes for France, Kauli Vaast and the Australian Jack Robinson were guaranteed in the third phase. After the third heat the competitions were interrupted because of weather conditions.
