Lawyer Neftalí Jaén in an interview on Radio Panama with journalist Enrique Arosemena, said that the events that took place last Sunday in the Andes 2 sector in the place known as Xtreme Plaza where a shootout took place with a balance of one dead and several wounded where it became known that the place did not have the corresponding permits.
“The Political Constitution of the Republic of Panama establishes that, in this case, the authority is the mayor of San Miguelito, and he can demand that the police stop an activity for not having the permits, and the police had the power, in the face of a fact, to proceed to stop an activity for not having the permits in order and thus avoid the events that we are lamenting today ” declared Jaén
In addition, he said that it is not possible that the district authorities are blaming each other who had the responsibility for not stopping the event: “It is not that now we are going to throw the ball to the mayor and he throws it to the commissioner and in That’s why we leave without clarifying who was responsible and one of the two is lying to the country “
Regarding the possibility of sanctioning the premises, Jaén stressed that: “It is irresponsible to think that the mayor (of San Miguelito) is going to sanction the premises after all the incidents that the citizens saw and knowing through social networks that an official under his command is linked to that business”
Regarding the justices of the peace, Jaén said that they are a disaster: “The justices of the peace at the administration of justice level are a disaster, not because of the fact of San Miguelito, but for those of us who have to go to the different corregidurías and know the limitations that these people have.
It should be noted that the Public Ministry is carrying out the investigation of this fact for crimes against life and personal integrity due to this bloody act that occurred on the night of Sunday, November 6, at Xtreme Plaza de Los Andes.
