Minister Alberto Pérez Dayán went from hero to villain for the workers of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (PJF) for breaking the consensus of the majority bloc of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) to approve the modifications to the judicial reform.

And the thing is that from early on the dissidents trusted that with the vote of the eight ministers, a group in which he was included, the general rules of the amendment would be invalidated.

As the meaning of Pérez Dayán’s vote became known, the morale of the workers fell and several even began to cry. Unfortunately he disgraced the toga. He will be remembered as one of the greatest traitors to the country.said one of the attendees.

Already angry, many crossed out the banners outside the Court with their faces and the insults did not wait: Dayán, traitor, you failed the nation!

We did not expect such an action from a minister with a judicial career, from someone from home who would betray us in this way, who would betray Mexico and all citizens.they commented.

Lucero de Alba, judge of Tlaxcala, pointed out that the working class came to defend the SCJN from the claims tyrannical of the majority power in turn, which seeks to appropriate the Court and the PJF.

This time the demonstration at the SCJN gathered around 2,000 people at its highest point, according to figures from the Government Secretariat, and became a stage for the appearance of political and business figures such as Xóchitl Gálvez and Claudio X. González.

The protest, which lasted approximately 10 hours, was attended from start to finish by Senator Marko Cortés, PAN deputies led by coordinator Noemí Berenice Luna, as well as the Generation of 24 Students, Marea Rosa and Frente Cívico.

Also attending were the PAN members Margarita Zavala, Kenia López Rabadán, Mariana Gómez del Campo, Santiago Taboada, José Luis Luege Tamargo, former head of the National Water Commission during the six-year term of Felipe Calderón, as well as the former national leader of the PRD, Carlos Navarrete , to mention a few.

The first groups of Judiciary workers, supported by law students and members of social organizations, arrived before 8 in the morning near the Court headquarters building and applauded the ministers who have openly demonstrated against the amendment. .

At the same time, the capital’s Security Secretariat reinforced the measures in order to prevent any conflict from being generated and, to this end, in addition to installing metal fences, a grenadier truck crossed at the intersection of Venustiano Carranza and Pino Suárez, so that the Opponents of the reform could not take control of the pedestrian access doors or Court personnel.

The magistrates and judges, students, representatives of organizations, members of parties and even civil associations that sympathize with the opposition demonstrated to support the project of Minister Juan Luis González Alcántara Carrancá, which sought to invalidate core articles of the reform, including those that They order the removal of more than 1,600 district judges and circuit magistrates and submit their positions to popular election.

Outside the SCJN, a pavilion was placed with huge speakers and screens sponsored by the Civic Front organization, made up of, among others, Emilio Álvarez Icaza and former PRD member Guadalupe Acosta Naranjo, where attendees followed the ministers’ session live remotely. which started at 10 in the morning.

day of mourning

However, shortly before 6 p.m., attendees were surprised when the SCJN ministers concluded that the reform of the Judicial Branch remains in force and is considered legal.

It is a day of mourning for the Judiciary, for Mexico and the citizens of this country, for the students and for our grandchildrensaid Patricia Aguayo Bernal, secretary of the tenth collegiate court on labor matters, who called herself a representative of the workers.

Minister Luis María Aguilar spoke with the protesters at the end of the session. Everything possible was done, you saw it, but unfortunately it is not always possible. I come to thank you for your support, your attention, your solidarity with the Judicial Branch of the Federation. We are all PJF… I love you very much, you are truly the soul of the Judiciary and therefore of democratic and independent Mexicohe stated.
