Would you like to do internships at the US Embassy in Managua? Here is an opportunity

The United States Embassy in Managua (Embusa) is promoting professional internships in that diplomatic mission, for Nicaraguan students to apply, and will be holding a virtual informative conversation next week for all interested parties in the country.

According to a publication by Embusa, on its official X account, the conversation, which will take place virtually next Friday, December 13, will inform about the internship opportunities available, the application process, the opening period and, in addition, participants in the meeting will have the opportunity to learn about the experiences of former interns.

The US diplomatic delegation is inviting all Nicaraguans who believe they meet the requirements to participate in the virtual conversation by joining the link that is available in this note and on all Embusa social media accounts.

The 2024-2025 call to apply for an internship has been open since December 4 and will remain open until January 8 of next year.

Available opportunities

According to the Embusa WebsiteCurrently available internship opportunities are:

  1. Intern at the Diplomatic Office of Technology
  2. Intern at the Office of Public Affairs / Culture and Press
  3. Intern at the General Services Office / Shipping, Customs and Travel
  4. Intern at the General Services Office / Vehicle Fleet and Warehouse
  5. Intern at the General Services/Housing Office

To apply for one of them, in principle you must access the link also available in this note, just by clicking on the name of the internship to find out what that opportunity is about. Then, each applicant must fill out the Internship Application Form

The North American diplomatic headquarters recommends that all Nicaraguans who want to apply send their applications in good time, and remember that the deadline to do so is January 8 of next year.

It explains that “to be considered eligible, the applicant must meet the criteria of “being an active student at any public or private university at the time of starting the internship”, in addition, “present the documents or academic records requested as verification of the educational requirement, before of the closing date of the open season.

They also point out that the candidates who are shortlisted “must be able to obtain and possess a Public Trust Security Certificate” to define the start of the internship.

The internship program

According to information published on the official Embusa website, the “Local Student Internship Program” (FNSIP) has been designed for university students who are not US citizens and seek to intern in US Missions. USA

“The program provides national students with a valuable educational experience and helps the US Embassy meet its objectives,” indicates the US government’s presentation of the initiative.

Likewise, the diplomatic mission in Managua explains that “the purpose of the Program is to offer students the challenge of working in a field of foreign affairs, at the same time that the Embassy benefits from their help.”

It adds that the internship opportunities offered by the program are open to “all undergraduate students who meet the minimum requirements and are available to provide office support for a short period (three to six months).”
