The issue of irregular subdivision reached the Departmental Board
A member of the National Party Caucus provided information about irregular subdivision that is being carried out near the departmental capital, a fact that has already motivated a public statement from the Municipality alerting about the situation.
The Mayor requested the intervention of the Urban Planning Commission of the Board itself to work together with the Legal and Territorial Areas of the Executive to shed light on the situation and prevent people from acquiring these plots.
“Our intervention is motivated by a complaint or rather a concern sent to us by some residents of the farms that are on the route to Centurión, about 4 kilometers from Melo, given that a few days ago the sale of mini-farms, 750 square meter plots of land in an irregular subdivision of the register 18,209, began to be published.” exposed Maximilian Abraham.
“We know that this issue has already gained public notoriety, the press has already published some reports, even the Municipality itself, in what we consider a very quick action, issued a public statement warning that the current regulations prohibit the subdivision of rural land into less than 5 hectares, that any business carried out contrary to the norm would be void and that the owners, those who mediate and all those who assist in the carrying out of the business will be subject to sanctions” warned the Mayor of the National Party.
“In addition to the nullity of contracts, the regulations authorize the stoppage and demolition of irregular constructions on the property” he stated.
Through a map, displayed on the screen in the Session Room of the Departmental Legislature, Abraham showed his colleagues all the lands that are being delimited. “What is being offered is a kind of private neighborhood with squares, a soccer field, with several plots of land where some are even sold and others reserved” told during the Half Hour Before the last session of the plenary.
“All this is being done in a completely irregular subdivision” he insisted.
“What worries us is that many people with the enthusiasm of accessing land, to build their own home, fall into this type of business that is irregular” said the Mayor of the National Party. “The prices are quite affordable, they are prices for which one cannot get land” he assured.
“We contacted the Departmental Municipality and we know that the Executive is taking measures, that they are working with concern about this issue, but since this matter has not gone through the Departmental Board as it should, it seems to us that the Urban Planning Commission of this Board should deal with it jointly with the Municipality, it could be with the Legal Department or with the Territorial part because we think it is quite important to make this issue clear to society so that it does not fall into this type of business. Other situations have already occurred that are not entirely regular” he remembered.
Maximiliano Abraham requested that his words be passed on to the aforementioned Urban Planning Commission of the Departmental Legislature and also to the Municipality of Cerro Largo.
