After a wait of three days, the third leg of the World Surfing Tour has finally started. Despite the fact that Supertubos beach, in Peniche (Portugal), did not present the best conditions, seven Brazilians (six in the male and one in the female) advanced straight to the second phase, while three others, among them the three-time world champion Gabriel Medina, followed for the recap.
Among the representatives of Brazil in the men’s category, nobody shone more than Yago Dora. Even having to act in a sea of just under two meters, the Curitiba native added 12.44 points to win the eighth heat, which also had the participation of the Japanese Kaona Igarashi (7.70) and the Australian Jackson Baker (11. 30).

In addition to Yago, the current world champion Filipe Toledo, the Olympic champion Ítalo Ferreira, the brothers Miguel and Samuel Pupo and Michael Rodrigues also went straight to the second stage of the Portuguese stage.
As for the female, the only representative from Brazil managed to advance with the second position of the sixth heat. Tatiana Weston-Webb scored 7.97 points, behind Australia’s Macy Callaghan (10.37) but ahead of Hawaii’s Gabriela Bryan (7.76).
