Foreign songs predominated among the most played on Brazilian radio in the last ten years. The conclusion is in a survey by the Central Office of Collection and Distribution (Ecad), which carried out the analysis in honor of World Radio Day, celebrated today (13).
The study considered only broadcasters up to date with payment of royalties to Ecad in the last 10 years. The survey found regional differences in music preference.
In the Northeast Region, there was an equal division between national and foreign songs. Among the 10 most played songs, five were Brazilian. At the other end is the Southeast, where only one national song entered the ranking.
In the Midwest, the list of the ten most performed songs had six international and four national ones. In the South, the proportion was seven foreign songs and three Brazilian ones in the top 10. The North Region had eight international and two national ones among the ten most played.
The national song that most managed to enter the list of the ten most performed was Flowers in Lifeplayed by Vanessa da Mata, who entered the ranking from the Midwest, North and South regions and was the most played in the last ten years in the Northeast. The second place among Brazilian songs was divided between the songs Nice jobfrom the band Jota Quest, and Oh, if I catch youby Michel Telo.
The song Nice job ranked fourth in the Midwest Region and was the most executed in the South. hit Ai Se Eu Pego Tego ranked sixth in the Midwest and reached the same position in the South.
