World leaders hail Nicolás Maduro's victory

Several countries and presidents from around the world expressed their congratulations to the Venezuelan people and to the re-elected president, Nicolás Maduro Moros, for his victory in the presidential elections this Sunday, July 28, for having been re-elected for a third consecutive term, in an election in which he obtained 51.20% of the votes (5,150,092 votes), according to the first official bulletin, presented by the National Electoral Council (CNE) with 80% of the votes counted.

The president of Honduras, Xiomara Castro, posted her message of support to the first national leader through her account on X.

“Our special congratulations and Democratic, Socialist and Revolutionary greeting to President @NicolasMaduro and the brave people of Venezuela for their unquestionable victory, which reaffirms their sovereignty and the historical legacy of Commander @chavezcandanga,” he said.

For his part, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel also highlighted in his message the dignity of the Venezuelan people after pressure and manipulation.

Today the dignity and courage of the Venezuelan people triumphed over pressure and manipulation. I convey to brother President @NicolasMaduro our warm congratulations for this historic victory and the commitment of #Cuba to stand alongside the Bolivarian and Chavista Revolution,” he said on social media X.

The Iranian Embassy, ​​on behalf of President Masoud Pezeshkian, also sent its congratulations to the Venezuelan people and the head of state for the “peaceful and transparent” day held this Sunday, July 28.

“We congratulate the great people of 🇻🇪 and His Excellency @NicolasMaduro, the re-elected president, for the successful holding of the presidential elections in a safe, peaceful, transparent, democratic and competitive environment with massive and broad participation of the people,” he said.

Rafael Correa celebrates Nicolás Maduro’s victory in Venezuela: “Glory to the brave people!”

Former Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa (2007-2017) also celebrated the new electoral victory of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, after the National Electoral Council (CNE) declared him the winner of the elections, with 51.20% of the votes and 80% counted.

“Glory to the brave people! It is now official,” Correa said as he reviewed the results of the first official report from the CNE, which declared Maduro the winner, with 44% of the votes for opposition candidate Edmundo González and 4.6% for the other candidates.

“Congratulations to President Maduro and the Venezuelan people,” concluded the progressive former president of Ecuador, who positioned himself in favor of the continuation of Chavismo in Venezuela.

Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega and his wife and Vice President Rosario Murillo congratulated their Venezuelan counterpart, Nicolás Maduro, on Sunday for having been re-elected for a third consecutive term, in an election in which he obtained 51.20% of the votes according to the official bulletin, presented by the National Electoral Council (CNE).

“Dear comrade and brother Nicolás: In full revolutionary and evolutionary brotherhood, from this blessed and always free Nicaragua, our usual embrace, saluting the great victory that this heroic people delivers to the eternal commander (Hugo Chávez), on his birthday,” Ortega and Murillo said in a letter released minutes after the CNE read the first report of the results.

“To you, President Nicolás, to Cilia (Flores), to the PSUV (United Socialist Party of Venezuela), to the youth, and to all Venezuelan families, our homage and greetings, in honor, glory and for more victories. Always beyond! Peace is!” they concluded.

Arce says Maduro’s “electoral victory” is a “great way” to remember Chavez

Bolivian President Luis Arce also congratulated his Venezuelan counterpart, Nicolás Maduro, on Sunday after being declared the winner of the presidential elections in that country, and considered that his “victory” is a “great way” to remember the late leader Hugo Chávez on his birthday.

“We congratulate the Venezuelan people and President @NicolasMaduro for the electoral victory on this historic July 28. A great way to remember Commander Hugo Chavez,” Arce wrote on the social network X, where earlier in another message he recalled the 70th anniversary of the birth of the former Venezuelan president.

Arce also said that he followed the “democratic celebration” in Venezuela “closely” and welcomed “the fact that the will of the Venezuelan people has been respected at the polls.”

“We wish to reaffirm our willingness to continue strengthening our ties of friendship, cooperation and solidarity with the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, within the framework of the sovereign integration of our peoples and in the shared objective of moving towards a multipolar world,” he concluded.
