It will be held in Uruguay and they hope it will contribute to tourism development
The Minister of Tourism, Eduardo Sanguinetti, expressed his appreciation for the organization of the World Grilling Championship, which will take place on September 21 and 22 in Montevideo. In his opinion, this is an event that will promote Uruguayan gastronomy and meats, it is relevant because it is associated with the national identity, it will generate jobs and, in short, it will boost tourism activity.
Sanguinetti participated in the sponsorship and dissemination agreement signed at the ministerial headquarters by the president of the Uruguayan Association of Travel Agencies (AUDAVI), Macarena Pérez, and the head of the Uruguayan Association of Grillers (AUA), Fabrizio Sergio.
The initiative includes the holding of the World Grilling Championship on September 21 and 22, which will be held at the Espacio Modelo facilities in Montevideo.
40 teams from 14 countries will participate. The event will be organized by the AUA and supported by the Ministry of Tourism and the Municipality of Montevideo, its promoters announced.
The Secretary of State welcomed the strategic partnership between the two institutions and acknowledged their work in the tourism sector. He also pointed out that gastronomy is one of the most important sources of development of this activity, because it provides identity and work.
