Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti stated that Brazil can win all three games in the first phase of the 2026 World Cup (against Morocco, Haiti and Scotland). The statement was made at a press conference held this Friday (5) after the draw for the groups for the World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
“Brazil’s first game could be against Morocco, Haiti or Scotland, we have to win. It’s about respecting the opponent and studying the rival well. We can win all three games. Our idea is very clear, we have to be competitive throughout the World Cup”, declared the Brazil commander when asked what he thought about facing the African team at the start of the next World Cup.
The Italian coach was also asked what he thought about the possibility of Brazil competing in the knockout stages with strong teams such as the Netherlands, Germany and France: “Brazil’s objective is to play in the final and, to do so, they have to face very strong teams. This could happen in the quarter-finals, in the semi-final. But, in my opinion, that doesn’t change much.”
In the interview, Ancelotti was also asked about Brazil’s next challenges, friendlies against Croatia and France, which were confirmed this Friday by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) and which will be played in the United States. According to the coach, these games will serve to assess the level of the team just a few months before the start of the World Cup: “I believe it will be a good test. We will face world-class teams with different characteristics. France has extraordinary individual quality, while Croatia has a very experienced team. We want to know where we are.”
