A total of 20 officials from the different entities attached to the Vice Ministry of the Integrated Criminal Investigation System (Visiip) participated in the Training Workshop on the Organic Law on the Right of Women to a Life Free of Violence, with the aim of dismantling the patterns of conduct of the patriarchal model and publicize the modifications made to this legislation.
This was reported by the Deputy Minister of the Integrated Criminal Investigation System, C/G Humberto Ramírez, who highlighted the importance of reporting as a mechanism to protect the lives of women who are victims of these crimes.
“The woman who goes through this type of situation must recognize herself as a victim, that is the main element to be able to initiate the criminal process through the complaint,” she said during her participation in the training meeting.
The deputy minister reflected on the importance of women’s lives, while recognizing the work that the Venezuelan State has done to guarantee this fundamental right.
“All the measures contemplated in this Law are established to protect the life of women and due process at times of occurrence of this type of crime.”
The workshop was given by the legal adviser of the Visiip, Dr. Dizlery Cordero, who presented to the attendees the modifications made to this legal instrument in the year 2021.
Likewise, Cordero taught the different forms of violence contemplated in the law; their sentences and the necessary procedure for the formulation of the complaint before the competent bodies such as the Body of Scientific, Penal and Criminalistic Investigations (CICPC); the Public Ministry; and the criminal investigation services of the country’s national, state and municipal police forces.
The doctor concluded by inviting all attendees to become multipliers of this information to ensure that more women know the necessary processes to eradicate practices of violence against women.
