The Ministry of Works Public and Communications (MOPC) has scheduled the delivery of 25 worksalready completed, waiting for President Luis Abinader to set the date for its inauguration and commissioning before the end of this year. This was announced by the minister Deligne Ascencionwho announced that the MOPC would be concluding many of those works before February 27 of next year, including the expansion work being carried out at kilometer 9 of the Duarte highway, at the entrance to the capital from Cibao.
“Works like the Palace of Justice of Santo Domingo Este, they have small details that are missing, it is a fairly large work, probably the largest building work that has been done in the country in the last forty or fifty years, with about fifty thousand meters construction squares,” he said
The official was interviewed by journalists at the end of the mass officiated at the Cathedral Primate Santa María la Menor, on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Ministry of Works Public Affairs and Communications, which was officiated by Monsignor Francisco Ozoria.

Likewise, Ascención said that progress has been made in the Navarrete bypass, but that “it is from now on that the pace will accelerate, because we have reached an agreement with a good part of the owners for the expropriations, just as in the avenue Republic of Colombia, with the owners as of January.”
Likewise, he referred to the Villa Elisa-Punta Rucia highway and another number of works important spread throughout the national territory.
Regarding the asphalting plans, he said that the MOPC has a complete schedule and that as soon as weather conditions allow, the institution will announce “the places where we are going to be present with the asphalting, as well as with the construction of sidewalks and curbs”.

He said that this 90th anniversary is an opportunity to remember and recognize the different public servants who have contributed to the Dominican Republic since the beginning of the institution.
