Santo Domingo,- Long traffic jams formed this Monday afternoon in most of the streets surrounding the Juan Pablo Duarte Bridgeafter the Government began the repair of said road last Friday, whose work will last 60 days.
The plugs were formed in the east-west directions and vice versa, as well as in La Fuente, Josefa Brea, Yolanda Guzmán, José Martí and Teniente Amado García streets.
Workers from the company in charge were working on the placement of the new joints and on the asphalting of the aforementioned bridge, one of the four that connects the National District with Santo Domingo Este.

Agents from the General Directorate of Traffic Safety and Land Transportation (Digesett) were sent to the place and to the surrounding streets, to make traffic in the area viable.
The plugs are formed in the so-called “peak hour”, which begins at 5:00 in the afternoon, with regard to the evening hours.
Said bridge was in a state of deterioration, so the Government decided to replace the joints and lay new asphalt on all the lanes, as well as repair the deteriorated railings.
