The National Institute of Roads (Invias), advances property management, transfer of networks, environmental authorizations and execution of works in properties authorized for the construction of 3.8 kilometers of dual carriageway in the corridor Armenia – Calarca Y 3 kilometers on the Armenian road – Montenegro – Quimbaya.

This project has the purpose impact the economy, tourism and the development of the Coffee Regionstarting by improving critical sites, such as the connection between Armenia and Calarcá by rehabilitating the road in La María, from the roundabout located in the La Florida sector (Armenia) to kilometer 0+000 of the corridor that connects Calarcá with Cajamarca and Ibagué.
The Minister of Transport, Ángela María Orozco Gómez, stated “the construction of these works contribute to the development of the transport sector as they manage to reduce travel times, boost tourism and encourage new investments in the territories”.

In this regard, the technical and structuring director of the INVIASGuillermo Toro, stated: “We have fulfilled Quindío, upon completion of the rehabilitation of the section between La María and Armenia, including the entrance areas to the capital of Quindío, mobility will improve in this sector that is so important for the surrounding communities, the tourists who they travel from the center of the country and cargo carriers.
Likewise, these works allow INVÍAS to advance in the construction of the dual carriageway between Armenia and Calarcá, currently under construction. In addition to these works completed today, we are carrying out activities in the corridor that leads from Armenia to Montenegro”.
The construction of the dual carriageway Armenia – Calarca is subdivided into three sections: from Armenia to La María (kilometer 0+350); from La María (kilometer 0+350) to El Pescador (kilometer 2+950); from kilometer 3+350 to kilometer 3+530 (Firefighters neighborhood – Calarca stadium).

Invías have carried out the records and studies of the titles of sectors 1 and 2 and are currently in the Lonja de Arquitectos del Quindío in charge of the appraisals of the

On the other hand, as part of the construction process of the Armenia-Montenegro dual carriageway, to date, site visits from kilometer 0+000 (Mercar sector) to kilometer 4+000 in order to obtain information for the purchase process; Property records and title studies have been prepared and are in final adjustments to continue with the appraisals by the Lonja de Arquitectos del Quindío and field visits have been carried out with the operators of the public service networks in which the designs of the transfer of the existing networks were raised.
