Works for taxes set a record and total S/10,006 million

Investments under the modality of Works for Taxes (OxI) totaled S/10,006 million before the end of September, revealed the Private Investment Promotion Agency (Proinversión). A total of 572 projects were awarded under the OxI mechanism since its creation in 2009.

A total of 254 public entities and 193 private companies have applied this mechanism over the last 16 years. Most of the resources were allocated to projects in Education, Health, Transport, Sanitation and Citizen Security.

By region, Ancash awarded five projects for S/1,317 million, while Ica awarded 15 for S/552 million. Arequipa was in third place with eight projects for S/455 million.

“In the private sector, the Antamina Mining Company stands out with an investment of S/1,827 million (64 projects), followed by Win Empresas SAC (EX Optical Technologies SAC) with S/1,395 million (31 projects), Banco de Crédito del Perú with S/1,268 million (96 projects) and Southern Peru Copper Corporation with S/1,133 million (29 projects),” Proinversión stated.

Similarly, he noted that so far this year They have delivered 69 projects through OxI for S/ 2,476 million and, going forward, another 11 are planned for around S/ 400 million.

In this regard, the director of Proinversión, José Salardi, stated that this progress demonstrates the decentralized work that the entity promotes with advice and technical assistance to train regional and municipal governments.
