The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, reported the arrest of three workers from the Civil Registry of the Dr. Pedro Emilio Carrillo University Hospital in the city of Valera in the state of Trujillo for allegedly charging in foreign currency for birth certificate procedures and other documents.
Through his account on the social network Twitter @TarekWiliamSaab, the prosecutor explained that the detainees will be charged by the Public Ministry.

The governor of the Trujillo state, Gerardo Márquez, showed on his social networks what was seized by officials of the Armed Police Forces (Fapet) and the Directorate of Citizen Security and Peace of the governorate in the offices of the Civil Registry that works in the facilities. of the Doctor Pedro Emilio Carrillo de Valera University Hospital.

He added that the officials asked for five dollars for the registration and the birth certificate.

They capture a nurse with medical supplies
From the Criminal Investigation Service of the Trujillo State Police, Governor Gerardo Márquez showed this Wednesday a large number of medicines and medical supplies found to a nurse at the Dr. Pedro Emilio Carrillo de Valera University Hospital.
“We continue in the fight against the hospital mafias. Look at all this material that we found at the Valera University Hospital, in this case a nurse was deprived of liberty, ”she said in the video posted on her Instagram social network account.
He stressed that he will continue to fight against corruption and theft of supplies and medicines in state health centers.
“I will always emphasize it, I have nothing against doctors or nurses, most of them are honest, hard-working, helpful people, but against those who steal supplies and medicines in hospitals, I go with everything. We continue to fight and I am going to put an end to the hospital mafias in the state of Trujillo”, he sentenced.
Márquez pointed out that the officials of the National Directorate of Citizen Security and Peace and the Armed Police Forces will continue the investigations in the entity’s hospital centers.
There are 10 detainees in the Valera hospital
With this action, seven workers have been arrested for corruption and theft of surgical medical material and medicines at the Valera University Hospital; in addition to the three officials of the Civil Registry of this important health center in the state of Trujillo, for a total of 10 employees apprehended and placed at the order of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
Since April, the Fapet and the Directorate of Citizen Security and Peace of the State Government began investigations against the “hospital mafias”, as warned by the governor of the state, Gerardo Márquez.
