—“I am not lying to you without justice… I have matters that have been delayed,” said Minister Ortiz when she was interrupted.
—“Everything he is saying… it hurts me that he lies like that,” was heard in the video of the moment, which was shared on social media.
“These matters are handled in a public prosecutor’s office, in a public ministry, not in a court,” they complained to the minister. “I’m not lying, I have no reason to lie, I’ve been teaching for 44 years,” the minister replied elsewhere.
The judicial reform proposed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador on February 5 will be ruled on by the Constitutional Points Commission of the Chamber of Deputies on Thursday 26; according to the Morena route, it is expected to be submitted to discussion in the plenary session on September 1, at the beginning of the 66th Legislature of Congress.
Although the dialogue forums organized by the deputies have already ended, Morena is holding debate forums to promote the reform and to promote the election of members of the Judicial Branch at the polls.
