From the headquarters of the Surface Transportation Management of the Caracas Metrothe workers held a small celebration this Wednesday for the 38 years of creation of the surface transportation service Metrobus.
With the presence of the management team, area workers and a group of 33 trainers who were certified as Surface Transport Operators (OTS)the importance of this feeder service of the Caracas underground transportation system was evident, which reaches a new birthday this Saturday, October 4, the Caracas Metro reported on its networks.
During the simple event held at the Patio La Paz Metrobús Complex in Caracas, it was highlighted that this anniversary is special due to the revitalization of the transportation service, thanks to the vision and commitment of the driver of victories and worker president, Nicolás Maduro Moros, who worked in his youth in this transportation system.
Characterized by offering a surface transportation service to the user population of the Venezuelan capital, the Metrobús offers a concept of safety and comfort, which extends to places where the underground system cannot reach. “Ensuring that we have transportation adapted to the needs of users and adjusted to new times,” announced the authorities of the Caracas Metro.
This system advances towards a new era of efficiency and modernization, through a decisive push that makes possible the incorporation of new units, the recovery of the fleet and the automation of services.
Metrobús has strengthened its fleet with 246 new and repowered units, which operate on 35 routes that ply the streets of all of Caracas, hence the importance of incorporating more operators. “Very soon it will travel throughout Venezuela, fulfilling the strategic vision of our leader of victories, President Maduro,” they stressed.
