Engineer Rafaela Martins de Araújo died this Monday morning (7) on a construction site at the Cabiúnas Terminal (Tecab), owned by Petrobras, in Macaé. She worked for MJ2 Construções, which provides services to the state oil company.
According to the North Fluminense Oil Workers Union, the first information is that she was run over by a steamroller that lost its brakes. The victim was taken to an Emergency Care Unit, but did not resist.
The Rio de Janeiro Civil Police confirmed that the case was registered at the 123rd DP (Macaé) and that investigations to clarify the facts are ongoing. An investigation has already been carried out at the scene and witnesses will be interviewed.
Petrobras informed that it is supporting the victim’s family and that it will set up a commission to investigate the causes of the accident.

Deeply dismayed, Petrobras informs that engineer Rafaela Martins de Araújo, employed by the company MJ2, a service provider for Petrobras, died on Monday morning (7) as a result of an accident with machinery on the access road to the terminal warehouses of Cabiúnas, in Macaé.
The worker was rescued and transported to UPA Lagomar (closest location), where she was pronounced dead.
The victim’s family is receiving assistance from Petrobras and the company MJ2. Petrobras notified the competent bodies and will form a commission to investigate the causes of the accident.
