Wong inaugurated a modern store in Sur Chico, in the Mall KM40 of the old Panamericana Sur. With an investment of close to US$ 5 million for a sales floor of 1,800 square meters.
In the supermarket, residents and vacationers will be able to enjoy the most complete assortment of products, of the best quality and freshness, in fruits, vegetables, premium meats, fishmongers, bakeries, among others, now available in Sur Chico all year round.
Thus, Wong has 21 stores nationwide, being his second store on the beach, after the one in Asia. Wong KM40 will serve all year round, from Monday to Sunday from 7 am to 10 pm, including home delivery service for purchases made through Wong.pe or the Wong App.
With the opening of Wong KM 40, the supermarket will strengthen its home delivery service to customers in Sur Chico, improving the delivery promise and enabling an additional point for customers to collect their orders.
“We are very happy to be able to share our new Wong KM 40 with all our customers in Sur Chico. This is a new milestone for our supermarket, in which we have invested close to US$ 5 million, generating around 650 jobs, including direct and indirect, several of them from the district. We arrived with our most modern Wong store, through which we want to deliver the best Lurín shopping experience,” said Alfredo Mastrokalos, country manager of Cencosud Peru.
As part of a unique design, on the walls of Wong KM 40, muralists José Mendoza Puma and Flavio Caporalli have recreated the landscape of the spa. In addition, they have captured the image of surf champion Sofía Mulanovich, Wong brand ambassador, who surfs in the waves of Punta Hermosa, a resort where she is a neighbor. The art of both artists recreates a warm atmosphere, reminiscent of summer days that clients and visitors will be able to appreciate.
Environmental Care in Wong KM 40 and cooperative work with the Municipality of Lurín
The new Wong KM40 store has an automated LED lighting system with low on/off control, hoping to generate more than 30% estimated energy savings versus a traditional system and thereby reducing our carbon footprint.
Additionally, as part of its commitments on the social front, Wong KM 40 will work collaboratively with the Municipality of Lurín. One of its initiatives is to reach less favored communities with its Food Rescue program, in alliance with the Peruvian Food Bank (BAP). Also, joint work will begin in the summer to clean coastal beaches. Finally, Wong KM 40 has already started a series of training on employability in the district, since 60% of the workforce in the store is from Lurín.
With this new store, Wong reinforces its commitment to customer satisfaction, always offering the best variety of fresh, high-quality products. This opening reflects the constant evolution of the supermarket, which with each action seeks to strengthen its connection with its customers and maintain excellent service.
