The important role that women are achieving in the productive chain of the coffeeand the commitment to redouble multisectoral work conscientiously to increase its consumption and export, are the main qualitative results of the recent International Fair of Specialty Coffees-FICAFÉ Ayacucho-Vraem 2022.
During the fair meeting, held in the land of María Parado de Bellido, our pro-independence martyr, women dedicated to coffee gained notoriety. The coffee grower Blanca Flor Córdova Jiménez won first place in the Cup of Excellence Peru 2022, with her coffee of the geisha variety, the same one that obtained 90.39 points in tasting, among the 40 classified samples, of the 211 – presented to this annual competition.
Thanks to this award, Blanca Flor’s coffee, which is grown at 1,870 meters above sea level on the La Bola farm, in the province of San Ignacio, Cajamarca, will be better valued in the national and international markets.
Jhosseline Benites is another woman gaining authority in the world of coffee. She reached first place in the National Barista Championship. She will represent us at the World of Coffee, an important annual meeting of coffee in the world, to be held in Athens, Greece, from June 22 to 24, 2023.
And as if that were not enough, the second and third places were also occupied by women, Jeraldine Torres and Diana Landeo, respectively, prevailed in the art of preparing coffee with various ingredients. The three of them are now the teachers of teachers.

For this reason, the great surprises of the meeting were Relinda Chávez, from the “Paraíso” brand, Ubidia Cuadros, with “Isko Rumi”, and Hortencia Victoria Berrocal, with “Puquiopampa”.
The province of Tayacaja, located in the Vraem, is the area where they dedicate themselves with their families to the production of specialty coffees. Hortencia Victoria Berrocal, ranked fifth in the Cup of Excellence with 89.66 points. Her coffee is from the “Puquiopata” estate, located at 2,200 meters above sea level.
