Women have more formal jobs than men

According to data published by the National Administrative Department of Statistics (Dane), Formal employment has been rising since the beginning of last year until the middle of this 2022.

(They propose night work from 6 in the afternoon).

For the quarter from April to June of this year, 42% of employed persons were in formal employment. While, in the quarter from January to March of last year, this figure stood at 38.3%.

According to the statistical entity, among women there is more formal employment than among men. In this second quarter, formal employment in women was 44.9%, and in men it was 40%.

For its part, informality also fell in the second quarter of 2022, reaching 58%. In the first quarter of 2021, this figure was 61.7%.

(Unemployment rate in Colombia was 11.3% in June).

In relation to the proportion of the employed population, both informal and formal, by branch of activity, the agriculture, livestock, hunting, forestry and fishing sectorregistered the highest rate between April and June, which was 85.4%.

The capitals of the country with largest informally employed population, in the second quarter of 2022, were Sincelejo (69.8%), Valledupar (67.2%) and Cúcuta (66.5%). And the activities with the least informality were financial and insurance, with 12.8%.
