According to local media and information from the Police of the municipality of Bello, in an interview with this woman, she would have revealed that the reason for the kidnapping of the creature was with the intention of “begging” in the streets of Medellín.

The authorities do not rule out that the intention of this woman has been to take the baby to Venezuela.

On repeated occasions, women who rent children to beg at street corners or traffic lights in different cities in Colombia have been captured.

This practice is very common in foreigners who arrive in the country and offer their babies as rent or otherwise rent them to go out and ask for money.

One of the places most affected by this problem is the city of Bucaramanga, where more than 100 cases were registered in the first quarter of the immediately previous year.

From the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare (ICBF), operations have been carried out together with the Police for Children and Adolescents to prevent begging in minors.
