A 27-year-old woman was sentenced to three years and three months in prison, accused of mistreating her three-year-old son, whom she inflicted on his feet, hands and head, as she vented her anger because he supposedly reminded her of her ex-partner.
The physical abuse to which the three-year-old boy was subjected ended last Friday, when the daughter of one of his neighbors heard the screams and cries, alerted her mother to what was happening and then they both came to her rescue.
The woman refused to let go of her son, having even crushed his little feet with a brick, hit his hands and his head.
The director of the Special Force to Combat Violence (Felcv), Colonel Roberto Pórcel, indicated that the parent underwent an abbreviated procedure After being denounced and made available to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, accepting the mistreatment she inflicted on her son, for this she was sentenced to three years in prison.
“The lady stated that the minor reminded her of her ex-partner, that’s why he hurt her. But now, the case is clarified and with a judgment handed down by competent authority”Porcel explained.
The child has been disabled for 10 days and is still under the protection of the Ombudsman for Children and Adolescents of Montero, since the whereabouts of the father or other relatives close to the mother are unknown.
“The child had cuts to the head, injuries to the lower limbs, nextgive us violence on his body,” the police chief expressed dismay.
For its part, the dMontero’s Gender Director, Pura CuÉllar, indicated that justice also ordered a psychological follow-up for the woman, work that will be done in the Cerprom prison, in Montero.
He added that the woman’s attitude was a repeat offender with her son, for which she will be subjected to therapy and control of her emotions. “The lady, having no family support, took violent actionss, is a repeat offender and there was little interest in giving protection to his children,” he explained.
The professionals in the area investigate the family environment, and in case of not having conditions to protect the assaulted child, he will be institutionalized. At the moment it is in a transitory shelter.
