Woman forced her daughter into prostitution in Peru

A Venezuelan citizen identified as Daimara Maideliz Gutiérrez Díaz, 35, was arrested by the Peruvian authorities for allegedly forcing her 15-year-old daughter to have sexual relations with parishioners in the district of La Cruz, in the Tumbes region of Peru.

According to the National Police Peru (PNP) a minor went to the Corrales police station to state that her mother forced her to provide sexual services repeatedly with different people, reports the website of the Journal Mail from Peru.

Faced with this situation, the law enforcement officers moved to the La Cantera sector in the La Cruz district, where Gutiérrez was in a humble home and immediately transferred her to the Corrales police station and later to the headquarters of the Criminal Investigation Division (Divincri ), located in the Jorge Taipe Tarazona police complex.

The victim is in the custody of the Special Protection Unit (UPE). The case was reported to Public ministry to continue with the proceedings according to law.

The mother of the teenager is investigated for the alleged commission of the crime of human trafficking.

Human trafficking in Tumbes

Peruvian media assure that in the Tumbes region there are situations of trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation, labor and forced begging where the majority of the victims are young people and women between 16 and 25 years old.

In relation to labor trafficking, it occurs in the interior of Tumbes in rural sectors of rice fields and in shrimp farms in coastal areas.

For its part, sex trafficking occurs mainly in canteens and bars in border areas. The recruitment occurs mainly through deception through social networks.
