A fatal traffic accident occurred around 5:30 pm on the Canta-Huayllay highway, in the section known as Los Vencedores de Sangrar, near the crossing towards Marcapomacocha.

According to preliminary information, a vehicle with three occupants lost its way and fell several meters down a slope. As a result of the strong impact, a woman lost her life at the scene, while the other two passengers were injured.
The injured were helped by emergency personnel and immediately transferred to the Daniel Alcides Carrión Hospital to receive specialized care.

At the time of the accident, there were adverse weather conditions, which would have complicated visibility and traffic on this high-altitude road.
Highway Police agents and rescue brigades arrived at the area to recover the victim’s body and carry out the corresponding procedures. The causes of the mistake are still under investigation.
