According to his relatives, a few months ago he had left a psychiatric hospital.
News Colombia.
A 24-year-old girl, identified as Estefany Katherine Ardila, died on October 8 after boarding a taxi heading to a shopping center. According to information obtained by Vanguardia, the trip turned tragic when Estefany asked the driver to take her to a medical center due to sudden discomfort.

In the middle of the journey, Estefany urgently asked: «Sir, take me to a clinic. “Do not call an ambulance because they take a long time,” which triggered alarm in the taxi driver, who immediately changed course. Unfortunately, despite the efforts of the medical staff at the clinic, the young woman suffered cardiorespiratory arrest that ended her life.
Disturbing find in her bag: a chemical substance
The authorities verified the contents that the young woman was carrying in her bag and found a ballot with cyanide, generating doubts and anguish in her relatives. While she was in the taxi, she asked the taxi driver for water, so it is suspected that she ingested the substance during the trip.
«We find it difficult to believe that she would have ingested that substance in a taxi. We have many doubts, especially because they told us that the taxi driver gave her water because she asked for it,” said one of her relatives.
As it turned out, Estefany had left a psychiatric clinic just two months ago, a fact that adds more complexity to the case. A relative recalled that on the day of her death, Estefany had been at the family business in the Girardot neighborhood with her father before taking the taxi, which makes her condition even more inexplicable.
For its part, the National Institute of Legal Medicine will determine, through an autopsy, the cause of death of the young woman and thus clarify the case.
