Horror shook the community of Nuevo Macarao, in the Caricuao parish, after the details behind the death of little Yoneiverly Saulismar Balda Sánchez, just 10 years old. What was initially reported for his mother as a sudden medical emergency, it ended up being, according to forensic investigations, infanticide.
The event was revealed at the Dr. Pastor Oropeza Maternal and Child Hospital. There, Magaly Josefina Sánchez (34) tried to divert the doctors’ attention with a story which soon fell apart in the face of physical evidence. The director of the Cicpc, Douglas Rico, detailed in an Instagram post how the woman tried to cover up the crime.
“The detainee stated that her daughter was getting ready to attend her academic activities when she had two episodes of vomiting and a seizure. However, The technical, scientific and forensic experts denied the version maternal, since the cause of death was the result of multiple traumas caused by a brutal beating”.
The technical investigation and field interviews carried out by scientific police experts showed that the girl was the victim of an attack of anger by her own mother due to “school problems.”

After clarifying the case, Cicpc commissions tracked down the mother, achieving his capture on the main street of Antímano.
