The functioning of the departmental Human Rights assemblies is at risk, since they do not have legal status and depend on the Tax Identification Number (NIT) of the Assembly Permanent Human Rights (Apdh-Bolivia), the same one that no longer belongs to Amparo Carvajal after the National Tax Service (SIN) ignored her as a legal representative, as explained by the president of the Apdh of La Paz, Javier Quisbert.

Over the weekend, Carvajal denounced that the SIN withdrew his legal representation from the Assembly and instead he registered Edgar Salazar Limachiwho has been representing this organization since December 19, 2021, when he held a congress branded as being related to the MAS.

“The department of La Paz does not have its own legal status, but we have to work with the status of the national one and everything that happens there, in addition, will affect the departments because if they manage to take over the national assembly very easily they will be able to instrumentalize and make the departmental ones disappear,” said Quisbert.

For his part, Salazar, in contact with EL DEBER, said that he began the process in January and presented the original documents to obtain the NIT. “Carvajal ceased his duties in 2018. The NIT change was in May and that situation was already known to the lady”, she emphasized.
