The President of the Republic, Luis Lacalle Pou, was present at the launch of the summer season in Punta del Este which was held at the Superior School of High Gastronomy of the Universidad del Trabajo del Uruguay (UTU).
Lacalle, who did not make statements, attended along with the Minister of Tourism, TabarĂ© Viera, the undersecretary of the portfolio, Remo Monzeglio, the mayor of Maldonado, Enrique AntĂa, with whom he took the podium.
The first to speak on the podium was AntĂa: “How nice to launch the season with a positive horizon after two years of the pandemic. I want to thank the government for its work so that no one falls from us in these two years. Minister TabarĂ© Viera also made statements, pointing out that “this is a launch of the summer season for the entire country.” “Since the borders were opened, the number of visitors has been rising to the point that in the last quarter it was at pre-pandemic levels.
