Asian gastronomy has become rapidly popular in Panama in recent years, since in addition to Chinese and Japanese food, we have also seen how Thai, Vietnamese, Lebanese and Peruvian, among others, have had a boom due to the variety of their specialities, said Ileana Wong, director of Aileen Art World, SA and organizer of Foodie Fest – Flavors of Asia 2023, during a press conference.
He explained that this Gastronomic – Cultural Festival that will take place on Saturday, June 3 and Sunday, June 4, in the Islands of the ATLAPA Convention Center, aims to expose Asian Culture and Gastronomy with dishes from the regions of China, Japan, Lebanon , Thailand, India, Vietnam, Korea, Indonesia, Russia and Peru as the guest country. There will also be the presence of the Embassies who will present their cultural traditions.
In its 3rd Version, this Foodie Fest – Flavors of Asia 2023 will have the participation of more than 50 Restaurants delighting us with Asian gastronomy, as well as talks and demonstrations by expert chefs in different culinary arts, cooking and pastry workshops for children. There will also be a bazaar area with the sale of handicrafts, accessories and traditional ornaments and edible snacks from different Asian countries.
Esteban Cheung, director of the Ethnic Market and also organizer of the event, explained that there will be folk dances, martial arts and a wide variety of shows on stage, as well as a children’s area with attractions for children and young people.
In addition, he said that they have designed a commercial area with samples 1 of equipment, supplies, accessories, various services and car exhibition areas in the lobby of the event entrance.
Everyone is invited to enjoy this magnificent Gastronomic – Cultural Festival awaited by thousands of Panamanian and foreign visitors, which represents a Cultural Exchange between Panama and Asian countries and which in turn contributes to the post-pandemic commercial reactivation in our country.
