With few passengers, fewer companies that sell tickets for interdepartmental trips, misinformation and buses that had just arrived at the site, this is how the transfer and operations of the new Metropolitan Terminal of El Alto began this Friday.

“We are going to Oruro, there is a mismanagement because they have not told us that the buses leave from here,” one of the few passengers who arrived this morning at the new terminal told Unitel.

For the start of operations in the new terminal, a group of officials from the Mayor’s Office of El Alto, together with municipal guards, drivers and the Police, carried out operations since dawn this Friday in the area where the improvised terminal of El Alto was located. for all bus and passenger companies to move to the new infrastructure.

“We have started operations, together with the Mayor’s Office and the drivers and the Police, from three o’clock, the transfer of 86 bus companies to the Metropolitan Terminal was arranged,” one of the officials of the El Alto Mayor’s Office told the television medium.

The leader of the Andean Federation of Drivers of El Alto, Víctor Tarqui, assured that 90% of the bus companies are already in the new terminal, to start their journey from there and reach their final destination.

“Only 10% remains, due to lack of information some bus drivers continue to arrive here (4th Street, March 6th Avenue), there are even people who continue to move to these streets, surely the authorities of the Mayor’s Office will have to issue a statement so that people find out that they no longer have to come here, but have to go to the new terminal”, he said.

One of the people who sells tickets to Oruro said that although the new terminal is empty it is because this morning they found out that they have to sell from the new facilities.

“There are companies that are just moving because yesterday we continued to sell tickets from Calle 4, where it worked. I am offering for Oruro”, he declared.

“I am heading towards Cochabamba, but there are no ticket agents, I don’t know what we are going to do. My claim is because the municipal guards have thrown us out from above, but I arrive and there are no buses, so an organization is lacking,” protested another person who was trying to travel.

The misinformation arose because last night a municipal law was recently approved that requires interdepartmental transport companies to start their operations at 100% in the new terminal, within a maximum period of 72 hours.
