TOLUCA, State of Mexico.– During her appearance before the LXII Mexican Legislature, as part of the Gloss of the Second Government Report, the Secretary of Economic Development, Laura González Hernández, explained before the plenary session that the objective set by Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez is clear; a competitive state, attractive for investment, where each region and each person finds opportunities to prosper.
“With vision and responsibility, we can transform challenges into opportunities. The magnitude of the challenge does not inhibit us; on the contrary, it inspires us, because we have what is most valuable, the vision and strength of Governor Delfina Gómez, the capacity of our people, the talent of our youth, the trust of our businessmen and the unwavering decision to comply,” said the head of Sedeco.
According to the latest INEGI report, in 2025, the workforce of the State of Mexico is 8.2 million people. In the two years of this administration, the entity is placed first in the country in the creation of formal jobs, with more than 191 thousand; The above means that, of every 10 jobs generated in the country, 4 were created in the entity, generating well-being for Mexican families.
In terms of investment, an economy of well-being and shared prosperity is being built. According to data from the Ministry of Economy, in 2024, FDI acquisition was 2,643 million dollars, which represented a growth of 36.8 percent, placing the entity in second place nationally.
Total FDI in the State of Mexico reached 10,537 million dollars, a figure that is equivalent to more than 50 percent of the size of economies such as Nicaragua or Jamaica.
In National Investment, the Mexican entity reported an amount of 140,155 million pesos, which is equivalent to a third of the GDP of Aguascalientes, and a quarter of the GDP of Hidalgo. Between September 2023 and August 2025, investment announcements were made with a value of more than 218 billion pesos.
He announced that seven strategic productive corridors have been formed that are distinguished by their geographical location, productive vocation, availability of land use, connectivity and availability of labor, designed to promote investment in the most suitable regions.
He recalled that Nezahualcóyotl goes from oblivion to economic prominence, as it will host one of the first poles of Economic Development for the Well-being of the country announced by President Claudia Sheinbaum; It will have federal, state and municipal fiscal stimuli, and represents an opportunity to promote sectors such as the electronics industry, electromobility, aeronautics and aerospace, to name a few.
He stated that all these actions are an example of the importance of promoting a fairer, competitive and sustainable economic development, with collaboration between powers, the participation of society, and the certainty that the State of Mexico has clear rules, solid institutions and a shared vision of the future, where no one is left behind and no one is left out.
