Morena voided the PRI in the Surveillance Commission of the Superior Audit of the Federation (ASF), where yesterday it was approved to call the Campeche prosecutor, Renato Sales, to appear, amid questions about the fact that the session of this instance was done without quorum.
In the event that Renato Sales does not go to the Chamber of Deputies next August 23 at five in the afternoon, he may incur responsibilities and the public security organs will be called to take him to appear even if by force
said the PRI deputy Hiram Hernández.
He explained that the appearance of the prosecutor was requested to clarify aspects related to a review made by the ASF to the public accounts from 2015 to 2018, in which damage to public finances was determined for 807 million pesos for the alleged theft of a spy team when he was National Security Commissioner.
As a consequence, he assured that the audit filed a complaint against him on May 11 and the commission needs to know the progress in the responsibilities determined by the agency.
In the session of the surveillance commission it was also decided to ask the audit for a detailed report on observations and irregularities, criminal and administrative actions in Campeche during the management of the former governor and current national leader of the PRI, Alejandro Moreno.
Likewise, a detailed report was requested on the anomalies detected in the use of 20 billion pesos in Chiapas during the management of today’s senator Manuel Velasco Coello and another report on the irregularities in the decentralized body Mexican Food Security (Segalmex).
The appearance of Renato Sales Heredia was agreed one day after he presented a request to the Chamber of Deputies to carry out a trial of provenance against Moreno Cárdenas for alleged illicit enrichment.
After participating in a security forum in the Senate, the Campeche prosecutor denied having violated due process or that he had undertaken a political revenge against the leader of the tricolor.
He denied having set up a circus when requesting the removal of immunity, as the opposition accused, and insisted that the PRI member is accused of illicit enrichment for 130 million pesos.
The agreement to summon him to appear occurred in a session in which the majority of Morena’s deputies did not attend and only the legislators Lidia Pérez Bárcenas, who is not part of the commission, appeared; Adela Ramos, who was not notified that she had been replaced in that instance, and almost at the end the Oaxacan Azael Santiago Chepi.
Pérez Bárcenas questioned from the beginning of the meeting that there was no quorum to meet, but the president of the Commission, the PRI Pablo Angulo, replied that 19 deputies had arrived out of the 37 that it has, that is, 50 percent plus one. However, in the voting that took place, 16 or 17 legislators voted. Never 19.
At the request of Santiago Chepi, Angulo made a count of the attending legislators and sang that there were 18 including the brunette who reached the end. Realizing that with that number the quorum was not achieved, he corrected it and said that with information from the electronic system, there was an attendance of 19.
Santiago Chepi and Pérez Bárcenas stressed that the commission’s agreements are invalid since they did not meet legally and warned that they will challenge them.
