Using a tool called a “clipper picks up objects”, thieves have been making their own in various commercial establishments in the city of Bogotá.
In a surveillance camera of a downtown location, a subject who posed as a customer was seen and in one of his hands he carried the strange object: a long stick with tweezers at the end.

While the saleswoman attends to a client, he takes advantage of the precise moment to take out a “kangaroo bag” with the tweezers, inside which were the personal belongings of the young woman.
With a quick movement, the thief grabs the accessory and takes it without the owner noticing.
Minutes later, when she finished serving the client, the young woman realized that her belongings were no longer in the place where she had left them and proceeded to check the cameras, finding the following images:
This type of robbery has already been seen for several years in Colombia.
In 2019, a security camera recorded the exact moment when a subject who was inside a shopping center located on Avenida Caracas in Bogotá, stole the seller’s cell phone in this way.
The thief stretched the “object picker” to the maximum and, pressing the lever, managed to grab the object that was at a medium distance.
