In the middle of a day spent in rain, in four points of Cúcuta and its metropolitan area, a group of citizens met to, together with the uniformed men who work in the city, pay tribute to the murdered policemen in the performance of his duty.
In the San Mateo Police Command, in the stations of San Cayetano, Villa del Rosario and in the CAI of San Rafael and Ceci, were the points where a candle was lit, and with a prayer the nine dead policemen in Norte de Santander were rememberedand the other 26 soldiers killed in Colombia.
“They are first feelings of gratitudein the day to day of our work, the scenarios are difficult, but these shows of affection from our children and adolescents who are part of the Children and Youth Civic Police, their families and the entire community who accompanied us. They are signs of support for the institution and that makes us stronger in mind, body and continue working on a day-to-day basis,” said Major Freddy Molina, commander of the Second District of the Cúcuta Metropolitan Police.
On the other hand, Mayerly Casanova, leader of one of the security fronts in the Juan Atalaya sector, stated that the indolence in the country leads us to ignore the drama that the police are experiencing in the country today. .

“Unfortunately in this country there are many indolent people who are not concerned about the pain of others.We see with a lot of pain, with a lot of impotence that they continue to carry out cowardly attacks, because they attack them from behind. We are all human beings, we all have feelings, and this was the opportunity to remind them that they are not alone, that the community still loves them, respects them and supports them very much. We all have a police relative or friend,” said the community leader.
Finally, Daniel Trujillo, a teenager belonging to the Youth Civic Police, has said that “First, I would like to thank our uniformed men from the country who give themselves day by day in this difficult work, taking care of us, protecting us and my deepest condolences to the families of the victims (murdered policemen)”.

In Norte de Santander, there are nine soldiers who have lost their lives, of which five belong to the Police of Norte de Santander, and four to the Metropolitan of Cúcuta.
