Led by Brazilian coach Tatiele Silveira, the Chilean team Colo-Colo advanced to the semifinals of the Women’s Copa Libertadores, by defeating Libertad (Paraguay) 1-0, late this Sunday afternoon (12). Striker Valencia scored the winning and qualifying goal at the Florencio Sola Stadium, in Argentina. The club joins São Paulo teams Corinthians and Ferroviária, classified on Saturday (11). they will appear in the semi on Wednesday (15).
Colo-Colo, undefeated in the competition, will face in the semis the winner of the duel between São Paulo and Deportivo Cali (Colombia), who will face each other later, at 8 pm (Brasília time), also at the Florencio Sola Stadium.
The Chilean team’s victory this Sunday (12) is the 36th under the command of Tatiele Silveira, 45, from Rio Grande do Sul. The sequence of victories is the second longest in the history of football (men’s and women’s), behind only the Lyon women’s team (France) which achieved 41 victories in 2012.
Corinthians and Ferroviária in the semi-final on Wednesday (15)
First winner of the single quarterfinal game, with the right to a rout (4-0 over Boca Juniors (Argentina), Corinthians (Brabas) met their semifinal opponent on Saturday (11). It will be Ferroviária (Guerreiras Grenás), a team from Araraquara (SP), who eliminated the Chilean team Dragonas Independiente del Valle with a 3-0 victory. Raquel and Nat Vendito scored in the first half, and Andressa completed the scoring in the final stage.
Current five-time champions of the Libertadores, the Brabas will face the Guerreiras Guerreiras Grenás in the first semi-final next Wednesday (15), at 8pm, at the Francisco Urbano Stadium, in Argentina.
Corinthians is looking for the sixth title, after the titles of 2017, 2019, 2021, 2023 and 2024. Ferroviária will fight for the third championship – it was champion in 2015 and 2020.
