Yesterday, the Permanent Commission surprisingly concluded its work, in a session in which 56 opinions were approved without discussion before the plenary session, there was a political debate on the 43 disappeared students from the Ayotzinapa Rural Normal School and the reports of the three commissions of this legislative instance.
There was no formal closure, due to an agreement between the parliamentary groups, and President Olga Sánchez Cordero left the premises before concluding, so it was the deputy Karla Almazán, from Morena, who reported that, if necessary, before September 1, a new session could be convened.
The closing of the works was brought forward a week due to the fact that Morena’s bench in the Senate will hold its plenary meeting next Tuesday and Wednesday, which will be attended by several secretaries of the presidential cabinet, and in that meeting, in addition, the senators will elect who will preside over that House next year.
Jorge Carlos Ramírez Marín, a PRI senator, however, deplored the fact that a session had not been dedicated, next Monday, to carry out a formal closure of the work of the Permanent.
The opinions endorsed by the deputies and senators were exhortations on various topics, including one on actions regarding voluntary organ donation, another on the migratory situation in the country and one more related to improvements in children’s shelters.
Legislators from all benches recognized Olga Sánchez Cordero for her performance in the Permanent Commission, for his impartial conduct and for allowing all the benches to express their points of view in the debates of the sessions
.
The PRI deputy Eduardo Zarzosa told him: you should be congratulated, because you have been prudent and impartial in making decisions
.
Similarly, the deputy coordinator of the Morena deputies, Leonel Godoy, told him: I want to recognize you, without a doubt you contribute to the democratization of our country with these lines, sometimes we agree because the legal criteria, and you know, have different edges, but the most important thing is to maintain order, the line and you did it
.
For the PAN, Senator Kenia López Rabadán told him: without a doubt it must be very temperate to lead a collegiate body like this, it is complex to try to balance the emotions, the arguments, the passions of so many people, but it seems to us, dear Olga, that it has been a great job
