President Alberto Fernández held a meeting this Wednesday at Casa Rosada with the executive director of the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Indec), Marco Lavagna, with whom analyzed in detail the progress of the 2022 National Population Census operation and the innovations that will be carried out so that for the first time in history it can be carried out online.
According to Lavagna, the head of state “was interested in the digital tool” and “made himself available to collaborate and delve into the issues required for the operation to be successful.”
The head of the Indec announced that both for “The operations of the digital Census, which begins on March 16, like the field operation, on May 18, is advancing in a timely manner, with great coordination from the national, provincial, and municipal governments.”

“For the assembly of the entire field census structure, from the coordinators to the census takers, we are going to require 600,000 people on the street,” he added.
Lavagna explained that it is “a very big operation” and expanded: “We have to coordinate with the Gendarmerie and the Security Forces to reach each one of the corners of our country”, given that this action, “as the President expresses it, requires that comprehensive look”.
