Jarabacoa. – With guarantees from the authorities that peace and citizen security will be maintained during the Christmas period, the Christmas operation began in this municipality to safeguard citizens during the December holidays.
Hundreds of agents from the National Police, the DIGESSET and the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) were launched into the streets this Friday morning, with patrols in vehicles and on foot, as part of the Christmas Peace Guarantee 2024 operation.
The municipal prosecutor, Magistrate Viviana Mena, called on citizens to enjoy Christmas in harmony and respecting Dominican laws, values and good customs.
He warned that whoever violates the law will face the Public Ministry for the corresponding castle.
The regional commander of the National Police in La Vega, General Julio César Betances, said that the institution will act in preventive work and combat crime, drug trafficking, robberies and crime in general.
The commander of the police detachment of this municipality, Colonel Abiu Aaron Zilberberg Cabral, maintained that they will act with firmness and respect in the face of criminal acts that occur.
Mayor Joselito Abreu said that Jarabacoa is one of the safest municipalities in the country thanks to the work of the authorities and the behavior of the citizens.
The National Drug Control Directorate, the Fire Department and the Civil Defense participate in the Christmas security operation.
It is supported by the civil society of this mountain municipality where ecotourism activity is very active.
The start of the operation took place in front of the Police detachment in this district and included a tour of the authorities through the town.
