SANTO DOMINGO.– With 43 of the 45 members, the Political Committee of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) holds the regular meeting that corresponds to the month of February at the Reinaldo Pared Pérez National House.
The former president of the Republic Danilo Medina, president of the PLD, is the one who presides over the meeting having at his side the general secretary, Charles Mariotti, the presidential candidate, Abel Martínez, Temístocles Montás, vice president of the PLD and the former vice presidents of the Republic Margarita Cedeño and Jaime David Fernández Mirabal and 37 members of the PLD political executive body.
Gonzalo Castillo and Juan Ariel Jiménez excused themselves, with excuses channeled through the Secretary General.
This Monday’s meeting of the Political Committee is being held with the Central Committee meeting in sight, convened for Sunday, February 19, which has on the agenda, among other items, choosing the heads of six secretariats pending election.
It is a process organized by a commission of the Political Committee, coordinated by Alejandrina Germán and made up of Lidio Cadet, Cristina Lizardo, Melanio Paredes, Celenia Vidal and Manuel Saleta, to select the heads of the Organization, Electoral Affairs, Information Technology and Communications, Dominicans abroad, International Relations and Municipal Affairs.
The meeting began with the roll call of the attendees and immediately the previous shifts in which the details of the multiple activities carried out by the PLD last weekend throughout the country were offered, including the meetings of the presidential candidate Abel Martínez. with social and economic sectors in the provinces of La Vega and Espaillat.
In one of the rooms of the national headquarters of the PLD, reporters, photographers and cameramen await to receive the final report of what was discussed in the meeting.
