The space is dedicated this time to women in the cinema and to the 50th anniversary of the film Giron. It will have the presence of filmmakers and film club members from Havana, Pinar del Río, Sancti Spíritus, Matanzas, Camagüey, Granma, Holguín, Santiago de Cuba and the host province.
The director Manuel Herrera, 2022 National Film Award winner, the actress Nuñez and the producer of the ICAIC Animation Studios Aramís Acosta are part of the jury.
Herrera recognized the importance of holding events of this type and the privilege of being able to appreciate the work that is done from amateur cinema.
For her part, Eslinda Núñez expressed the great satisfaction of returning in person after two years of pandemic and thanked that the promotion of the festival continues.
In its 39 editions, the Winter Festival has been an opportunity for the exchange of experiences between filmmakers through debates, conferences, theoretical meetings, workshops and activities in the community.
Projection of films, shorts, documentaries, and literary presentations will be recurring spaces in this appointment with the seventh art, which will also find a space in the municipality of Sagua la Grande, sub-venue of the event.
