Wilstermann beat San Antonio 1-2 in a match that closed the 21st date of the Clausura tournament of the Professional Division of Bolivian soccer. The duel took place at the Félix Capriles stadium in Cochabamba, where the Saints were the home team, this Friday night.

The Rojo del Valle rose to tenth place in the accumulated table with 36 points and is approaching the prize zone, in this case the Copa Sudamericana, since among those ten teams are Universitario (seventh) and San Antonio (ninth), which He already has his place secured for the Sudamericana and Libertadores, respectively.

The flying team was superior during the first half, they had generated some chances of scoring and that is why it is not surprising that they took the lead.

The goal was scored by Héctor Bobadilla (39′). The Paraguayan controlled the ball inside the area and took a left-footed shot, which entered next to the right post of the goal guarded by goalkeeper José Peñarrieta.

It seemed that the teams would go into the break with that single goal, but that was not the case. La Paz referee Gabriel Mendoza awarded a penalty in favor of the Saints in added time, at the request of the VAR.

Iván Huayhuata (45’+7) took responsibility and converted the tie with a shot into the middle of the goal, when goalkeeper Bruno Poveda had chosen his right post. With the score at 1-1 they went to the locker room.

For the second half, San Antonio coach Leonardo Égüez sent Daniel Floro to the field instead of Luis Ariel Jaldín. This variant strengthened the saint’s offensive zone, and when he was doing things better he received another goal from the aviator.

The play was born with an escape from Marvin Bejarano through the left lane, he entered the area, and sent a center at mid-height so that Carlitos Rodríguez (59′) hit him first and converted the difference for Wilstermann. A couple of minutes after the goal, Rodríguez left the field with physical discomfort and Adrián Pacheco replaced him.

Then the game went uphill for the Reds, because they were left with ten players due to the expulsion of Santiago Echeverría (79′), who saw his second yellow card for a foul on Daniel Floro.

San Antonio sought equality in the final stretch of the match and had two clear chances in stoppage time with Gustavo Mendoza who hit the crossbar with his shot and Daniel Floro who headed and sent the ball just a few centimeters from the crossbar.

In the end, the team led by Eduardo Villegas celebrated a long-suffering victory.
