Independent candidates have joined the commitment to transform the Mayor’s Office of Panama through the candidacy of Willie Bermúdez and Luis Casis.
The commitment establishes principles of accountability, administrative transparency and participatory management, Willie explained during a press conference. In addition, immediate actions have been outlined such as cleaning up trash in the first 100 days and implementing pet hospitals and networks of new schools in various sectors of the city.
“This alliance seeks to transform the city and offer real solutions to the citizens of the district,” said Arielis Barría, candidate for representative of Tocumen for the Independiente Vamos group and the youngest at the national level. She is aware that the current Mayor’s Office is leaving Panamanian citizens in total abandonment. “The Mayor’s Office seems more like a small political box of the current mayor and that cannot continue,” adds Barría, “We are going to manage to unify all the townships to achieve a single Panama, orderly, safe, modern, inclusive, transparent, with opportunities for everyone.” .
“We need correct and transparent leadership in the Mayor’s Office and Vice Mayor’s Office,” say the independent candidates, recognizing that Willie and Casis are the only team with a solid plan to recover the city.
