Will there be Double Hoy No Circula this Friday?

No. For this Friday, December 26, there is no environmental contingencyso the Double Today Not Circulating is not activated.

Although high levels of contamination were recorded, the Megalopolis Environmental Commission (CAME) did not issue an official contingency declarationso the program operates regularly, without additional restrictions.

What cars will not be able to circulate?

According to the official Hoy No Circula calendar, the restriction will be in force from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and applies to vehicles that meet all of these characteristics:

-Blue gummed

-9 or 0 plate termination

-Hologram 1 or 2

If your car meets these criteria, it is best not to use it this Friday and opt for public transportation, bicycle, electric motorcycle or ride-sharing services.

-Vehicles with hologram 0 or 00

-Electric or hybrid cars

In addition, since July 1, 2025, Hoy No Circula also operates in the metropolitan areas of Toluca and Santiago Tianguistenco, from Monday to Saturday, for vehicles with hologram 1 and 2. In these regions, fines will begin to apply until January 2026.

How much is the fine for not respecting it?

Driving when your car is restricted can cost you between 20 and 30 UMA.

In 2025, the value of the UMA is 113.14 pesos, so the economic penalty is:

-2,262 pesos (minimum)

-3,394 pesos (maximum)

The final amount will depend on the criteria of the authority that lifted the violation.
